mentoring
Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. ~ Hellen Keller
One of the joys of studying mathematics is sharing it with others. As a firm believer of Professor Federico Ardila’s Axioms of Mathematics, I am actively involved in promoting better access for underrepresented groups in math and science. Along the way, I have met some pretty amazing people to work with while carrying out these outreach initiatives.
- In Summer 2024, I mentored two undergraduate students in creating a Causal Inference Python Library alongside Mayleen Cortez and Matt Eichhorn.
- I was a 2023 - 2024 Center for Applied Mathematics Peer Mentoring Program Co-Coordinator with Mayleen Cortez and Tayler Fernandez-Nunez. The Peer Mentoring Program supports first-year Applied Math PhD students transitioning to the demands of graduate school.
- I served as the student coordinator of the 2021 Summer Institute in Mathematics and Science, a 3-week academic preparation and research training program for incoming first-year students intending to enroll at UCSB directly from high school in the Fall 2021.
